Today start a new area of fields, these fields are far from major cities Medieval, losing many things here then they passed with horses .. one of these things is the PreRoman coin of the Gadir mint in very bad condition :-\ but very old ,made 2200 years minimum (a city founded in 1101 BC)only seen a little relief of a tuna that is the symbol of this city they put tuna on coins that was his main business in southern Spain since 2000 bc. ... also a medieval coin weight for a gold coin Florin. XV century :hello2: . Crown of Catalonia and Aragon. Cross. Countermark five or six flower petals. 3.21 grams.
Also a 17th century tailor's thimble, two billon coins of the years 1641 and 1709) ... and stuff. :hello:

I'm unlikely to ever get such an old coin, as it would need to be an early import into a country that had no monetary system, so to me that is a great coin to add to your collection.

I always like coin weights & that one is in good condition as well!

Very nice!

Good finds Hispan, you took the years back on that coin ...Merry Christmas to you and your Family :icon_santa:

I'm not likely to make finds like that in Texas!

You guys have such great history that goes back so far. The first European population of Oregon didn't start until 1846. Before that it was the stone age, and that overlaps white occupation, the last stone age man coming out of the mountains of N. California in 1911.

Very nice finds! Merry Christmas, Hispan! :icon_thumleft:

What are the two small items with two rivets and a hole shaped like a keyhole. Some sort of bag clasp?

Victorian corset clasps (although clasp is not the right word, it went on the back of the ladys corest & the string tighten the whale bone corset through those holes)

Congratulations, Gadir, what a great coin! The coin weight its fantastic, not many like that one!!!
I'm back I hope to go searching on the 26th...
Happy xmas.

you are lucky to have such old coins, I could get a Potin from further South but they started in about 150BC max (as far as I remember)
