WHITES MXT ,GARRET ACE150,GARRET SEA HUNT MARK II.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
It all started at five this afternoon, to much sun and heat, not expecting many findings that had all depleted fields and the heat was bothering me lot ....... but out of nowhere a man appeared approximately 90 years with your dog just in time to collect things to go .........
Hello good afternoon I whisper in Catalan (one of five languages in my country) and I wonder what I was looking for land mines in those fields and I explain that looking coins and antiques ...... Mr I then began to explain the recent history of these fields, I recently compared to other areas nearby that are Romans, I said a little further towards the mountains were previously planted with fruit trees and vines to uba wine and probably could find interesting things, I also explain secret that made me understand why all these fields are not planted at this time .......
The farmer receives economic aid to plant wheat fields but are not good for wheat (no water) and land ara to deceive the government inspectors, but never nothing planted.
Later I went to the fields that I said Mr., are good fields are findings from pre-Roman times to the 19th century abound and 19th century coins (find a silver coin but broken ) later found the Figure Bronze ....
It is an exact copy of the statue of St. Peter in Rome in 1300 by sculptor "Arnolfo di Cambio" look is totally Roman toga and carrying off a llabes the sky with his left hand. It is the second best sculpture and found in my life ... but does not exceed my sculpture of Apollo which is much more ancient.
also a few things more ... Roman coin, knife Bronze, medal of the 16th century and more.

Greetings !! :hello:

Wonderful finds! A figurine and coins is always a great indicator that a house or villa was there at one time.I'd pound that field until my feet bled! And then some, lol.
Well done.

@ Shaun - Do you think saints are still required to use the throne?? You should do a study.A saints toilet seat would be worth a fortune on Ebay!! :headbang:

The value of this sculpture is multiplied by one hundred to be an identical copy on a smaller scale of the original Rome.
In my life and seen very little representation in bronze of Sant Peter´s , only two or three that I remember (none appears on the Internet), and this figure is in very good conditions of conservation, I'll be hunting in these areas till you find yourself in the arm is missing (the throne sure it was wood).
Shaun is praying to St. Peter for not doing much sun in its journey to Malaga Summer. :laughing7:

Hispan, You did it again, guy. Great find, and great finds. Love the down-view on the fields. You've got many many
days of detecting - and finding - to do.

WoW, amazing finds! Thanks for sharing them :icon_thumleft:

Deciphered the enigma of a figure the San Peter´s in the middle of a wheat field .... that is not really a wheat field:

1-The original bronze figure of St. Peter was held in Italy during the Middle Ages 13th century, is thus the first work of art that is known by Italian Renaissance artist "Arnolfo di Cambio" (art movement that copying works of art of the Romans and Greeks) that copied the sculpture of a Roman emperor and added the keys in the left hand (the style of the keys is totally Medieval 13th century).
2 - During the years following went on a smaller scale by making copies to hand out all the Cathedrals of the World (the sculpture is found Wednesday in this period).
3-This figure was sent to a cathedral in Spain.
4-The sculpture was located in a cathedral for centuries and possibly later transferred to a church near the field where it was found until the liberal movement came to Spain and Spanish came the first republic.
5-In the years before the first Spanish Republic were burned and destroyed many works of religious art and then threw the remains in the nearby fields.
6-There was forgotten for more than one hundred and thirty years .... until my MXT step over it. :laughing7:
7-Throughout this study is the conclusion of the coins that are in most of this period, found near a church .... the upside is that I can find better things .... revolutionaries had no knowledge of ancient art . ::)
Greetings! :hello:
