All look civil war era. I have found the same buttons and suspenders clips in firepits at one of my fort sites. Is there any ash or charcoal? Every time I have found a mix of buttons and clips in any quantity it was in a burn pit. If there is a lot of iron, I would sift.

Thanks for the info! There is no ash or charcoal in the hole. There is a decent amount of iron.

Thank you for the info. Any idea on what decade they were made? Many of the suspender clips were patent 1855.

I cant help you there, buttons like this were made for many years back in the 1800s and probably into the early 1900s a little bit, before being replaced by plastic buttons, which have been around for almost just as long.
