So this is my second find. I live here in Northern VA. This was about 6-8 inches down. Any way to date horseshoes?

That's a nice 'complete' example , imo it's hard to 'date'then cause they were basically the made the same way for many years.

I try to keep them in context with other relics form close by or same site.

They look good cleaned up & displayed for Luck.

It is always nice to dig an old horse shoe. Congrats.
 

Nice horseshoe! I got my first one last week in those woods I told you about. Poked around today and dug a bunch of barbed wire!
 

Thanks! It was pretty cool. Found another really old piece of iron but can’t make out what it was. Cleaning it up a bit then will post
