2nd last hole for the day gives up Rev War

Tough day on the copper trail, managed just three and I certainly worked for them. I'll not bother posting the junk, but I was weighed down pretty good by the end of the day. We hit two junky sites, and then a new one that in an hour would not give me a single thing... not a coin, not a button, nothing. So with about an hour to go we tried a small field and got nothing, and then spent the last 20 minutes or so in a field that had given up 2 RPs but was very stubborn about a 3rd, until today! It sure ain't pretty like the USA on the banner but I'll never complain about coming home with one of these. Also got a fox button.

Hey that RP is pretty darn good!
I'm 99.9% sure I have the exact same sportsman button you have; I think I've had it a couple of years now
The trail is cooling down just a bit but we will turn it up next time out!

Considering all the Rev War pewters I've dug since 1999 I can say finding an intact edge round one in a farm field here is close to impossible. Sure it could happen, but I bet we'll see many rare finds before it does, if it does. That said, the day I dig a very nice Rev War pewter I hope it is not an RP!

Given my first had nothing more than a raised portion I assumed was a crown, and is now in the button tickle truck.... I'll definitely take it! Thou shall not ever complain about digging Rev War.
