Exchanged my dimes for some more today, I'm hunting an elusive "S" dime. Not sure why, just REALLY wanna find one. Anywho, open the bag, first hand full sorted, reach in for another and what do I see:

Didn't really expect to find another so soon, so was quite pleased. Pulled 2 more silvers too, so not a bad bag, been averaging 3 silvers per throughout and did not disappoint:

Do have to ask, does anyone else get their hopes up more after finding a good one? I found myself hoping more to find another merc rather than simply being happy I pulled that one. I figured if there was one, the odds of more old ones went up for some reason... Anyway, quite pleased with it. Also, are S dimes really this scarce? I've found quite a few proof nickels and cents, even some quarters, but nothing in a dime yet, though only have done 12 bags. Happy hunting everyone!

Nice finds !
I have found some S mints, including 1 1949S - pretty tough, and a 1994S silver proof.
I would imagine they turn up a little more frequently in the West

Rosco: I find myself in the same thinking. If I find just ONE merc, then I think most likely there will be a few more. However, as I have said all along, pulling a bag is the BEST PLACE POSSIBLE as to catching the ENTIRE collection that was dumped. Similar to that dream dime box of mine, back in Jan 2017, when in a MWR bank box, I caught 65-mercs and 33-Rosies. Imagine what the numbers would have been if I had caught those in a bank BAG?
