2nd time out

This was my 2nd time out, just messing around some woods behind a fiend's house. Not much value, but I did have fun! Looks like we have a few copper pennies, a punch, a faucet key, and most of a ring (not sure if it's gold or plated, and I wonder about that small gem in the middle).

When I was a kid we had skates that clamped onto the shoe, and they were tightened with a key, very much like the one you have pictured. There is even a hole for the thong or chain for the kid to carry the key around his neck and not loose it. I love the ring, to me it's Victorian looking.

That's what I originally thought it was, but I am too young to have used skates with keys. My google image search turned up skate keys that didn't look anything like the one you pictured. It instead pointed to faucet spigot keys. No markings on it at all, so it was hard to tell.

And, yes, I am hooked!

It was pretty heavy duty to be a razor handle. The rusted-out end was longer and tapered, too. I accidentally broke it off before the picture. I left the whole thing over at my friend's house. I may try to look it over more thoroughly the next time I'm over there.

Could also been an old screwdriver. Keep digging and something great will turn up.

Yes... I've already gotten some "I-can't-believe-you-are-still-doing-this-I'm ready-to-go" looks from the wife when she came with me today.

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to satisfy your addiction. Find clad, buy jewelry, Hand it over, say you found it. Lol. My wife routinely tells me I need to go dig her up a new couch or whatever it is she wants. Small price to pay for permission to hunt.
