Very nice! Can you possibly show a closeup of the markings?

That's a beautiful find--and great that you dug it undamaged. I have now dug two silver spoons...or rather 1 1/2 silver spoons. The plow does awful things to those. It's really rare to see one come up undamaged.

Cheers,

Buckles

nyantler, nice finds man. I'm from Central NY too. It's nice to see someone local finding some of the good stuff. Real nice spoon, solid silver! :icon_thumleft::coffee2:

Sorry I can't give you a more close-up pic of the spoon.. I don't have a macro on my camera. The name Gillett is stamped on the back of the handle... I typed the name in google and it came up a silversmith from Cazenovia, NY... which is just a few miles from where the spoon was dug. The spoon was standing on end about 6 inches down ... my Garrett Ace 250 with 4" sniper coil picked it right up amongst all the junk inside the cellar hole..

Nice hunt and finds! HH, Mike
