Met up with Etrac007 at a park this morning. Found a section that was not frozen and was easy digging. Got in a couple hours before the rain came. Found an 1878 foreign coin but it was really dirty. After I got home, got it cleaned up and did some quick searching on Google, I was able to figure out it was an 1878 Russian silver 15 Kopeks. It is my first foreign coin that has been silver. Look forward to next weekend when the city should finally be thawed out.

Cool Find ! Good job on researching and finding out about the coin. Foreign coins do count for the silver list don't they?

Awesome coin!!

And yes, I would definitely count that as silver  (and maybe as two ::))

Nice Job Patrick!
That's 1800's silver for sure.

Sweet find!
That one's got some stories behind it for sure!

Sweet find for sure!!! :icon_pirat:

Cool!

Just an amateur opinion, but not only should it count as a silver. But shouldn't you get "unlikely coin" of the week? I mean, exactly what park were you guys hunting, the Kremlin?!?!?

Very nice silver...

Cool find in my book...

Probably one of the best silver finds from there. Just makes you think what else is in that ground there.

Awesome old coin. I've never seen one like that before.
