Quite a run you’re on my friend. This hobby is feast or famine as you know. I only have one but it had a date which was nice

I dug my first in 2000 and maintained a one a year average until 2009, and that's when the cob tap turned off. In general I know having found 9 is pretty good, but even those years when it seemed like it was easy I was quite aware it was not, because no one I knew within a few hundred miles had many... next highest likely only 2. Since then Romeo-1 I think has a good little collection going, but it's just not something we see too often. So I am very happy with what I was able to get my coil over, but sure would love to add a few more as I miss the high of looking down and seeing them in the dirt.

Nice, Iron patch. If it were me, I'd be wearing one of those around my neck.

It could happen way out here.......dangit!

i found my third morgan dollar in April and my second was last August. I'm hoping I get closer to a nine count before the tap turns off, but I know that is not very realistic. Actually, I'm hoping the next old dollar is GOLD!

Naaa.... I have a gold chain with diamond cross... would rather, if it happened, lose it! :) Each one of those find moments is forever ingrained in my brain.

Interesting how most of yours dont look to have been clipped while almost all of mine were clipped at the mint or later on. Including my newest from yesterday:)

You're on a roll and looks like my lead won't hold up much longer.

That’s one hell of a cob collection my man! Just incredible. I gotta get into some water areas. What am I talking about....I don’t even have time to hunt.

I dug them at the earliest sites I have. I've not thought about it until now, but sadly my sites that account for 5 of the 9 I can no longer hunt. Sites that early are getting close to impossible to find, and cobs don't turn up at my usual older places.... hence the reason I have dug 9 but am closing in on a decade slump. But they are out there, just a matter of swinging the coil over the right spot.

Got 13 milled Spanish but only one cob...

I don't have a group shot of all 13, but here are the last 4 I dug last year.
Sure wish I could get on another site to dig some more.
Guess I will just have to live vicariously through others until the time comes when it is possible to dig more.

I have found two cobs out of 68 total Spanish silver coins. Both of mine are 2 reale cobs.

Here is the first one dug in 1993. I believe it is Potosi Mint and mid 18th Century.

Here is my second dug in May 2016. I believe it is Lima Mint and also mid 18th century.

Wonder how many of these were tossed in the trash after mistaken for garbage! !!?

Sounds crazy but I can see that happening. If not for finding mine a few feet from the Mass silver I wouldn’t have thought much of it. I’ll post a pic when I get back to my iPad. No detail and just a weird shaped piece of metal. Looked nothing like silver

IDK. Kinda hard to miss the big cross on them if not heavily clipped/cut.

When I dug my first one, the first thought through my mind was a flattened piece of lead - that is until I wiped the mud off it :laughing7:
