Hello everyone, I am posting my better finds from three hunts Wednesday, Friday, and today Sunday.
Wednesday; went out for my two and a half to three hour after work hunt where I was able to recover three silver Mercury dimes dates are 1919, 1920, and a dark 1945. Mercury dimes look really cool when they're in very wet soil near water to come out of the ground very dark.
Friday; went out for a two and half to three hour hunt and I was able to recover three Mercury dimes the dates are 1937, a dark 1944, and a 1945. I also uncovered a Washington quarter 1942 and a buffalo nickel.
Sunday; got out to a house I got permission from where I recovered two Indian head pennies 1901 and 1905. I also found what appears to be a child's sterling silver ring very ornate and then in total contrast a giants ring!
The giant ring I originally thought might be for a cloth napkin but it had writing on it. The name George Auger. Well apparently George Auger was a giant person 7' 5" he was born in 1881 and died 1920 he came to the United States in 1904 where he would tour with Barnum and Bailey Circus and the souvenir rings were manufactured

sometime around 1910. Although my Google searches have shown a lot of conflicting dates regarding the date of manufacture of these rings and also Georges height ranged anywhere from 7'5" to 8'4". Nevertheless this non-precious metal turned out to be a pretty cool find.
Enjoy the photos, and happy hunting!
