Hello all.
This was my first time out in a few weeks due to rain and snow. The weekend started off with a visit to a 1911 house that I just knew would be a honey hole. I didn't even find a wheat cent.
After giving up on that spot I went to the school/church I attended in my younger days. It's currently not in use and I've heard they'll be selling it soon. It's not particularly old but I figured it could be a clad fest.
The digging was not easy since the grassy areas are between an upper and lower parking lot with about a 30 degree slope. Kids have played on these slopes for years so I figured a lot of change had been lost and it didn't disappoint. One of the odder finds was the Belgium 2 cent Lion coin. These can be rare but unfortunately it's pretty worn so I couldn't get a date off it.

A little while later I dug what I thought may be my first clad half dollar but turned out to be a 1962 New Zealand penny. Not rare or valuable, but it's the first holed coin I have dug so it's worth a mention.

I got a strong high tone that turned out to be a silver ring with some rusty iron corroded all over it. I don't have an "in the hole" pic, but here it is after I rinsed it off.

Luckily the rusty metal broke apart pretty easily as I washed and scrubbed it.

It does have a hallmark that looks like a C with an arrow through it. I couldn't get a real good pic but I would appreciate any ideas on who the maker might be. The word "STERLING" still has some of the rust over it I couldn't get off.

Later I got a signal that didn't really sound that great but turned out to be a 64 Rosie. (My first silver coin of the year.)

Today I didn't have anywhere special to go so I went to a school/park that I have pounded. I got a signal that was so loud I though it was for sure going to be junk. I was shocked to see a ring pop out of the hole. Sorry the in situ pic is not very good.

Here are some cleaned up shots. It looks like a really nice ring so I was hoping for some high end maker, but the only marking is 925.

Thanks for looking. GL and HH.
