Hello My Friends!!

My consecutive hunt silver streak with my SE Pro coil is still alive! Today, I went on my 39th turf hunt since the end of June with my Pro coil. Guess where I went? :icon_biggrin: Of course, the "silver park". I went to an area I had detected twice before, and couldn't believe there were still a good amount of deep signals left to be analyzed and recovered. I ended my half day hunt with 4 silver dimes, along with 21 wheaties. I was thinking earlier this morning that if I could get just one silver and a few wheats out of this area, I'd be really satisfied. The area is small; approx. 30' x 40'. Most of the deepies were around 6-8" in very trashy ground. With the 4 silvers today, along with 2 Rosies I found on Monday, I have recovered 168 silver coins this year from the "silver park". This is an accomplishment I know I will never match for the rest of my life. And the year is not over yet. I have 5 more silver coins to go til I reach my 300 milestone for the year, and you bet I will try very hard to find them at the "silver park". No reason to go anywhere else. :idea1:

On to consecutive silver hunt #40 next week! :walk:

Thanks for looking!!

Terriffic!!! I am still looking for my first Merc. HHHH

Thanks, HappyHenry!! Keep looking....there's mercs left in the ground at any old, producing site.

Congrats on the silver. That is one great park. My silver total this year is only about 290 less than yours

Thanks, QuaidMon!! Just get out there and enjoy the scenery while you're detecting. That's what I do. In the end, it's not about how many silvers you have; it's about enjoying what you're doing.

that is great! what a accomplishment

Thanks, BradDFX!! Yes, it's a lot of hard work looking for those deep coins in hard-packed trashy ground, but it's the thrill of the hunt and the scenery around me that makes it so enjoyable. Oh yes, and seeing that shiny silver at the bottom of your plug...nothing else quite like it!

Thats awesome! Keep up the detecting!!!! thumbsup Love to see your posts as always! Grin

Thanks, DF!! Appreciate it!! Hope you score a silver or two up there!!

Congrats on the great hunt,I wish we had your park and weather. Their was more people in your park in 1 day then mine all year. HA HA Have a Good one and Good luck on your next hunt.

Thanks, Gary!! You're right. The "silver park" has been visited by millions of picnic'ers over the past 60-80 years. Lots of drops, not to mention, lots of trash too!!

Congrats on the 39th in a row Capt, nice haul. 5 short of 300 silver, man you have a great spot there. Good luck to you on number 40 icon_thumleft

Great finds!
That's alot of damn silver!
I'd at least cash in all the Rosies!

Dan,

Congratulations, my man! You never cease to amaze me. You are a perfect meld of man and machine! I hope your streak hits 50. You deserve it! If anybody can do it, you can. :D

Thanks for the inspiration!

WTG Dan!
I have no doubt you will reach your goal of 300 silver. Can you tell us more about the ring? Was it found with a coin or a surface find? It appears to be tooled from Amber. If so it could be your oldest find yet, like a mere 35 million years old or so.

Thanks, Bruce! Yesterday's hunt was so hard at the "silver park"....I just eeked out a Rosie and 10 wheats to get to 41 straight. Hope you can get out in your area and detect!

BTW...what method did you use to clean your silver coins ? What ever it is ...you did a dang fine job.I know there's a few chemical methods for silver , but yours look outstanding. Please favor us with a suggestion.

Thanks, Takoda. My method is very simple for shiny silvers. First, use running water to take any dirt off of your coin. Then mix a little amount of baking soda with a few drops of water to form a paste, and gently rub your coin with the paste between your thumbs and forefingers. Most of my coins from the "silver park" I've been hunting this year come out of the ground with little oxidation on them, so it doesn't take much to clean them. Some of the parks I hunted at last year contained silver coins that were so heavily oxidized, that I had to use electrolysis on them to get all the crud/black off.

Thanks, John. Yeah, I'm just 2 away. This week has been very hard for me at the silver park. The place is thinning so much now. It takes hours just to eek out a couple of silver coins. My ring, I believe, is just a molded piece of synthetic material. I was hoping for amber, but I don't think it is.

Boy that California silver looks really shinny.

Thanks, CrazyJarHead. The silver in the "silver park" comes out of the ground real clean. The baking soda paste does a better job on them. Good luck to you!

Man the silver around here has all but dried up. Bladingboy and I went the other night and each found 4 wheats and he found a 42 quarter and I found a 52 Rosie.

I just cannot imagine what hunting with you would be like Captn. Seeing that much silver and wheatage in one hunt would blow my mind!

Hello, Larry!! I know you and BB don't hunt parks around you. That's where all of my silver/wheats have come from in the past 2 years here in S. CA. Homesites will not hold has many coins as a park would, but you will find many more cool relics than I will. My "silver park" is slowly dying out now. I'm waiting for a good rain soaking so I can find those 10+ inchers. I'll probably be going back to some of the parks I went to last year. Maybe I missed a few here and there to keep me going.

Good luck to you!!

You da man, Dan!! It's nice seeing all this silver being found but a tad disturbing since I haven't had ANY time to get out myself. But I'm glad for you and hope your streak continues. At the rate you're going California's gonna dry up anyway so I guess it don't matter if I get out or not. hehe ;D ;D ;D
