Hey all TNET members

Only been out for the third time this month.
Not much to really write about.
Got out for about 1 1/2 hours on this HOT DAY.
Went over to the NORWOOD PARK Corner House.
This is probably the 12 trip over there this year always manage to find at least 1 good find if not more.
Today was a fun day!!!!
Found a bunch of clad the first 15 minutes.
Got a good quarter signal at about 1 inch.
Dug the hole and out popped this chunk of metal. After looking at it I put it in the pouch.
5 minutes later I dug up a 1916S Barber Dime about a foot a way from chunk of metal.
I decided to look at the piece of metal after that and saw that it was 4 dimes melted together.
COOL 5 Silvers ..............
The 4 dimes are all Mercs. Can't see any dates....

In all it was a fun day....

Definitely one of my top 5 cool finds

Anyone else find melted coins. Post them here I would like to see some more.....Thanks DPSB

all of it is cool, but man a barber!

Sweet finds, Bob!!

Looks like I should've travelled east instead of west! :icon_scratch:

How deep was the Barber? Oh, and I can fire up the torch & try to melt some clad together 4 ya...... ;D

Neil

Congratulations! Thats weird that 4 silver mercury dimes were melted together! :o

Nice finds....the four mercs make a nice conversation piece.

Melted together in some kind of fire, maybe a house fire. It's one of those things to research.

Very nice!!!

That's the first time I've seen 4 mercs melted together like that.

Can you post a closeup of the large marble - looks like a handmade German one.

4 Silver Mercury Dimes-------- $4.00
4 Melted Mercury Dimes Melted----Cool
4 Melted 1916D Mercury Dimes----- Priceless

Cool. At least you can tell they are mercs. :) The Barber dime is a sweet find also.

Ok.. this is a little morbid... but when I was in Japan one time.. I went to the museum at Hiroshima.. and in the display they had a clump of change that had been in someones pocket... the entire mass of coins was fused together. That image has always stuck with me.... NOT trying to start a discussion about "if" we should have dropped it or anything like that... just saying it was pretty creepy to see.
