after Digging 13 Holes, My Ankle was sore, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to stand up again after the last Few times down on my knees.
My Stomach was empty and threatening to Eat itself,
& the High Heat & Humidity was getting to me

You got an old greenie in good shape too. Nice job

On top of the heat, looks like pretty rocky hard digging too.

about 6 inches of driveway type stone, & pretty decent red ground under it.
Not real hard but not soft either

1917, looked like a great year! don't over do it(easier said than done), my wife is always getting on me, it is so hard to quit and when I finally do, I usually pay for it!LOL. still that wasn't a bad hunt at all.

yea if it wasn't for the 1917, I would have been Disappointed with my Day.

I'm am a little disappointed in myself though, 2 inches tops to the right of the 1917,
I had 2 high (Sharp) tones very close together.
(broken & poor)
could have been a nail or other Iron, of course.
But also could have been another coin or more from a drop.
but I felt like I was gonna drop over from the Heat & Hunger,
& at the same time thought If I have to get up & swing again and Pinpoint again
even one more time right now, I will drop over. so I covered,
Got myself on my feet & headed back to the car.
I won't forget that spot though after the next rain :laughing7:

Looks like a classic festival / chowder site to me , should be more goodies to dig still !

I detected a cornfield last spring while suffering from strep throat

something about this hobby that makes us test our limits, nice save on the 1917!

originally Church Grove,mid 19th Century,
taken over by the Community, Used now for all types of purposes,
From birthdays, to church functions, to Carnivals .

Jeff try to eat before you go then all that exercise burns calories off of fat!
When you don't eat before the activity then the exertions burns calories off your muscles
causing more fatigue!
My apologies if it sounds like I'm a know it all! You probably know this already!
Best of luck!

LOL Yea I messed up this morning, and site is so far back in the Boondocks it's a 20 minute ride
or better to the nearest place to even buy a snack.

Normally I take snacks with, As I said I messed up.
Perhaps I can blame it on not being out for a couple months :laughing7:

Boy, I misread that as "...and the high heels and humidity were getting to me" and I thought I'd stumbled into a Monty Python skit.

Else, I was gonna ask if that was like wearing a lucky t-shirt or something.

Then raid my wife's closet. :icon_salut:

WB Jeff. Sure looks like a good spot....typical Pa community carnival grounds. I have found silver rings and lots of clad at them. I have taken to carrying a case of bottled water in the vehicle with me and taking frequent water breaks.

Welcome back to the hunt!

Looks like you did well ! Considering!

WTG!

Thanks ! I started out the year on a silver Run,
would have been cool to jump right back in but all things consided,
it Could have been worse :laughing7:

Thanks !

The heat, lack of food, and pain aside, did you enjoy getting back out again? I know that had to feel good. Nice to see you back at it.

I have been down for almost a month due to a sprained ankle. I need surgery to fix it. I keep hobbling along and ignore the pain and problems with it.

I had a very similar day yesterday. I got into some really old homes. I found a plated gold ring and two 1941 Wheats. The only neat thing I found was a very tiny picture frame with an old picture still in it. I gave that to the homeowner. The house was probably a 100 years old and the picture had to been 50+.

I was told I should have had surgery also, But at my age I'll hobble & hope for the best.

Probably the surgery where they take out a tendon in one spot and then reattach it to the bone to stabilize the ankle?

I am told that this is a tough surgery to recover from. I started to have problems in the military and I am still waiting (3 years) to get seen concerning it. I went to the emergency room almost a month ago and they are suppose to schedule me for a ortho doctor to look at it. I am going to give them 2 more weeks to contact me and then I am going to speak to a lawyer or something. I'm in my 40s and my civilian doctor really wants me to have this surgery quickly because he told me if I wait, it will be harder to heal due to the low circulation in the ankle area. He is ready to do it, but I have to wait for the VA to do something or I won't get compensated and the surgery will costs me hundreds.
