i had posted this earlier with other finds i made today. I finally got help identifying this piece of silver. It is part of a circa 1620 Silver Gaming token with engravings of James I and Prince Charles on it, im attaching a pic of the piece i found and a pic of intact token.

Holy crap! Nice find! Congrats!

very cool , never seen that before.....:icon_thumright:

That's a great find. I've never even heard of those tokens. Are you sure its silver? The way its broken makes it look too brittle to be silver. Pewter maybe??

More likely billon. (low grade silver) Widely used over a long period and dug coins often have those sharp breaks. I have many broken early French ones.

Wow, very cool

That's SICK!!! KUDOS on the id... CONGRATS... HH

Awesome find!

They are Silver, and very thin like a hammerd coin although they look engraved, they were supposed to have been made by screw press. Another reason why it might have broke, is these were often pierced and worn as loyalty badges....nice find :icon_thumright:

Very cool find. I wish it was whole as it would have been banner worthy in my opinion.
