Really sweet finds.. I'm kinda surprised you didn't come across any LC's or colonial coppers because many of those finds are pretty early ???

Several colonial coppers and LC's have come from one of the sites I hunted. Just haven't found one since June. :-\

That's why metal detecting is so awesome 8) :headbang: just never know what's down there and nothing surprises me anymore.. last year I swore I'd never dig another colonial silver after a 3 month cold streak and this year I've turned up 17.. I say it's luck, IP says it's sites.. who knows maybe a bit of both ;D

Oh my bad I thought you were implying something else. Any idea what my variety may be? By the way the back is mostly gone... I can barely make out a word but I am not sure what it says.

No sorry, don't have the detailed books on these. I guess what I was getting at was that most of the 10 I have are different, either concaved, large, medium, small different cannon types etc...

Ah I see. The 2 others that were found are identical to the one I found, one in better shape than others (gilt still there). Neil found them. We suspect they may have been from the same jacket.

Nice photos! Does the pocket watch have a back? I found an engraved watch back at the site about a year back.

Here is a photo of the other two buttons shown with the shield that was found nearby.

This raises the question where are the other buttons?
Here is a pic of what the uniform looked like, so there must be others!

The pocket watch has a back, but it's plain and no detail. :-[

I like the shield. Was it also part of the uniform? :icon_pirat:

Yes, where are the other buttons indeed. ;D

I think it is more American looking than British but it was found in the same area.
