Congrats. What's the rectangularish object? Any idea?

no clue its heavy like 5 pounds heavy so im assuming its lead but what for? its shaped like a bar

the mercury dime is my favorite and have been wanting to find one for years

nice merc. congrats!

Nice dime! However, it is not a woman.
The mercury dime depicts the mythical Greek god Hermes.
Interestingly enough, I never read why it was chosen for the dime, however it began mintage half way through WW I, and ended at the end of WW II in 1945.
One must imagine if it had some type of Masonic symbolism. :dontknow:

Sorry, but that is not true either. The dime is a depiction of Lady Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap. It is mostly referred as a "Mercury Dime" because it is confused with the Roman God Mercury. So indeed, you were looking for and found a woman afterall.

this thread is starting to look like a ping pong match
