5-19 dry sand finds

I had planned on hunting in the water today. However, when I walked out on to the beach, I saw dark clouds on the horizon. So, I headed back to the car and switched out the Tiger Shark for the Silver with the clean sweep coil. Wouldn't you know it, it never did rain Oh well, there were plenty of targets in the dry sand. Unfortunately, about 55% of those were bottlecaps

What I did find:
1 Sacajawea dollar (My 1st of the year)*
17 quarters
14 dimes
6 nickels
43 pennies



*I found 1 Sacajawea at The Great Southern Beach Shootout last month.

Willie you did whole lot better than me I got 45 cents in a 3 hours spin ..But thats ok .. at least I could get out to hunt.. Guzz1

Willie, that Clean Sweep Coil can really do a job fast for you doesn't it? To bad Tesoro isn't producing it for the Tiger Shark anymore.

Some answers to your questions:

Sandman: Yep that coil covers a whole lot of real estate in a hurry, pinpointing is a breeze. I e-mailed Tesoro a while back asking if they were going make the CS coil for the Tiger again. They said they had no plans to.

TreasurdiggrNY: I watched the beach cam on Sunday and there were plenty of people going into the water. Monday the weather looked threatening so crowds were significantly lighter.

Great to know you are finding all that coin with the Tiger Shark.!! Now I know it's me. Or maybe I need to find a clean sweep coil??!! Did you have to change your internal settings with that coil??

Cindy, I was going to hunt the water but decided that I didn't want to be chased out of the water by lightning. So I went back to the car and got my Silver Umax with the clean sweep coil. I'm sure the Tiger Shark would of found just as much. One of these days I'll get the adapter that let's you put the clean sweep on the Tiger Shark. Thanks for the reply Cindy.

Dark clouds could also announce lightning (or not but still a possibility) and you're carrying a "lightning rod"! When I was met with a similar situation in Santa Monica Beach (L.A.) and I started to walk towards the water it took me a few moments before I realized what I could be walking into and I don't mean the water! If I had been hit by lightning perhaps I could have been sensitized to coins and I would not have needed a metal detector!

LOL Rain I can deal with but it's the lightning I have a problem with. The 1 or 2 times I've encountered lightning while hunting, I've noticed the detector will do a little "crackle and pop" just before actually seeing the lightning. I was under cover of course. LOL
