Cloud 9. Foggy hunt off the blue ridge parkway outside Roanoke VA. THE PICTURE SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. I still can't believe it. Stomping the woods looking for old foundations and I see a couple of deliberate rock piles. So I say what the hell. 5 targets in a row. Within 5 feet of each other. Standard Orange is basically what I see on the back. Some gold gilt. Crazy. IMG_1324.webpIMG_1326.webp

Nice old buttons! IMHO I would work that area a bit more! :occasion14:

Nice pile of flat buttons. Get out there and hunt that place again!

Yep you need to get back there! Good luck and congrats on the relics you've dug thus far!

Interesting that they should be all near that rock pile - Nice group of buttons! I've personally never seen one with 'Standard Orange' on the button back. That's a new one for me.

Yea initially I thought it was a grave site. But no markers etc. found logging chains axe heads so maybe logging camp

The thing about buttons is they were often used long after they were made. From your picture I can see several buttons from ~1820-1840. A couple others may be older but I can't see them clearly.

Nice finds. There's more there

How many have the same back mark?

All different.

All different is good, meaning they didn't came from the same piece of clothing, and probably not at the same time. So there is no doubt some more goodies somewhere near by.
