50 So Close But So Far

Managed to get out over the Christmas break on Saturday in the hope of taking my hammered Silver coin total close to the fifty for the year I am hoping fore, Michael my detecting partner winkled one out almost straight away so my hopes were high managed a few nice Medieval finds before I had my first Silver but it wasn't the hammered I was hoping for, turned out to be a nice mans size Silver thimble a bit squashed but in nice condition, then I had one of the best Roman Bronze Coins of the year Constantinius I think, reverse Romulus and Remus she wolf suckling twins, then my first hammered(well part of one) one of the Tudors possibly Elizabeth no 47 for the year, a few more bits and pieces came out including a plain strap end(medieval) then a second hammered (broken again) one of the Edwards York mint no 48 for the year. Three days to go and I'm out tomorrow here's hoping for 50

nice jetton! i've seen crusader find these but never asked what they were! coins or tokens?

Our hammered target is 50 but at only 44, I have no chance & Dad is away until the 1st. With the XP we should make it next year.

The Jetton is a nice early & not such a common type in great nick. The Roman is a 1 in 100

It is a nice jetton proberbly the best I'v had, but never seen one so thin as this one it actually bends like cardboard got another one today English sterling bust jetton(on a run) you are going to have to get a car

Great finds. I've never found one but I think the old silver thimbles with the designs are one of my favorite finds on T-Net.
