Penny, how long did it take you to go thru 3 boxes. Do you check all the coins for key dates or just look for silver? Do you reroll them? or turn them in loose? I pick my boxes up in the afternoon and by the time I get home I can go thru 1 box maybe 2 if nothing is on TV. I do uncrimp the rolls and reroll them which takes time but I think 3 rolls in a day is beyond me. Then of cource, I'm an old man. ;D ;D

Congradulation on your roll finds today. I picked up 12 rolls of halves today and 2 of the complete rolls 20 coins ( was all 1997 halves that was uncirulated ( One roll even had UNC written on it ) and both had started to tone in the wrapper. Also this week I found in circulation a one dollar bill with the serial # I I2521252 A

Goldinmypan,

It takes me approximately one hour to go thru one box of halves. I look at each half, date, mistrikes, proofs, silver the whole shabang. ;D This includes re-wrapping them in new wrappers. I then spend approximately 15 mintues per box to write my bank account number on each roll. Today I took the three boxes in from last week and turned them into one bank and the teller was very friendly and wasn't put out by it. I usually take one box of halves to one bank,as I don't like to unload too many on one branch. Today I just wanted to see what would happen if I took all three in at one time. Btw, I watch television while I'm searching the rolls; I like to multitask. ;) I'm no spring chicken, 42 yrs old but I think I have good manual dexterity.

Hi Richard,

It's amazing when you find halves that look uncircuated; I've had some from the 1980's that were in perfect condition. I found quite a few 2002 and 2004 halves in the first box today that looked uncirculated. Good luck with your searching. :)

WTG on the silver and the Benji, Pennyworth.

I watch TV too when I look thru boxes. Today it was The Price is Right, and believe me getting five 40%-ers at face value was the right price! It takes me about an hour too but I don't re-roll 'em. I just bring them to the casino and dump 'em off a couple of hundred at a time.

Three boxes in one afternoon is a lot to search but your finds are making it pay off.

Immy, Today I watched Law & Order SVU and Law & Order CI. If I had more money to buy boxes with, I could order as many as a want. The head teller says she will order as much as I want. Now if I could only find a way to get some more money... :-\

Just an FYI, I am not sure which type of wrappers you are using, shotgun or flat, but I find it is much easier to write my account number on the flat wrappers before I roll the change. It might save you some time.

So far the banks I've been using don't require me to write my account # on the rolls. I think they feel its just an added chore for them to scratch them out before sending them on. I did drop some off at the same bank in another town and they wanted my acct # on the rolls. I don't know if it was just that bank or what.

Congratulations, any time Ben visits, it's a happy day!

And remember "Hunger is the best pickle." - Ben Franklin

I found quite a few 2002 and 2004 halves in the first box today that looked uncirculated.

Penny, since 2002+ was only released as uncirculated, that's not suprising. I guess somone ordered some of those $35 P&D rolls from the US Mint website, and after they picked out the ones for their collection, they turned the rest into the bank for cash. Save all those 2002+, if you don't want them I'm sure someone will trade you for other dates you might not have.

Congrats on the silver!!!
Ben is always nice to find!!
My box from Friday resembled your box #1 & #3!!!

HH!!
