I hit adjacent properties this weekend that I've just about exhausted the past year. Using my CTX 3030, I've already gridded it hard twice with my stock coil, once with my 17" coil, and even tooled around with my Garrett Ace 350. They've been good to me (2 cent coin, Indian Heads, Mercs, Barber dime, other relics). Accompanied by Strateloss, we figured it would be a good spot to test our small coils, test programs, sensitivity, etc., and see how we fared. We spent about 2 hours haphazardly going around one property, sans headphones so we could listen to each others' signals. Two things I noticed: 1) I was impressed with the depth; 2) LOTS of iron falsing. I was getting some decent high tones and many turned out to be rusted iron or nails. At the end of the day, Eddie managed a 1926 Buffalo (no mint mark) and I scored some whatzits. The following day I got out for about a half hour on the other property (my parents') and got a nice solid 12/43. I thought another penny as this is how they've been ringing up lately. Before I got to the coin I pulled out a big rusty nail and then a small screw... and then... a 1910 Barber dime. Sweet! Now i have to go back and grid hard with the small coil.

I think this may be a cufflink piece.

Nice finds granthansen. Wow - you have hit that spot so many times - digging must be easier! Thanks for sharing...

Way to sift out the more hidden items! Shows that employing different techniques--smaller coil; different program; gridding a different way; etc. can keep a property open. I'm sure when you're "done" with this property, you'll be very confident that you got everything possible.

Somehow it's difficult each and every time, lol.

The first is always the toughest. My first Barber was actually a quarter, then it was quiet until I scored a dime. I've gotten 3 Barber dimes in the past month (2 on same property). So once you break the ice, they'll start coming!

that last picture looks like a flag pin.

Cool ill take a Barber any day, that reminds me ,I need a haircut lol.

Sounds like you guys did well at that property! I think that one item is a shelf holder and not part of a spoon. The "cufflink" item I have seen somewhere before and I'm not sure it's a cufflink...maybe someone on the What Is It forum can ID it. Good job on pulling that Barber dime! Overall it sounds like the small coil is a winner! :icon_thumleft:

Yeah, not at daunting as I thought it would be, especially since these were short outings. I do hope it finds me a mason jar full or Morgans.
