9-9-07 finds, Tsgman

[tsgman]

It's been raining non-stop for days. I was thankful for the rain but we got more than our share. It was fun to get out and dig, I met up with my hunting buddy John and he had his girlfriend along to help him out. His finds are in the 4th photo.
We hunted for a few hours and made some nice finds. John had to bug out early so I stayed and hunted a few more hours. It was tough because we were limited because of the tall grass, so I had to hunt a pasture that had been grazed off by cattle. The MXT did a awesome job again.
I found a bullseye rosette that was folded. I also dug a rifleman button and a flat button and a 1911 penny. The toe plate was in good shape with a of date Nov. 29 1859.

awesome relics! Could that thingy in the last pic be a part from a pulley? Also, in the first pic, do you have any idea of what that folded round object with the remnants of green paint on it is? I found one that looks exactly like it a few weeks ago, and have been hanging on to it just in case it might be something. Thanks!

Thats a Civil War era bullseye rosette. Thats a good find, did yours atill have the lead in the back? I have found several but all are missing the lead. Maybe they needed it due to a lead shortage for bullets?

Are you serious I had no idea. The day I found it, I threw it in thye trunk of my car. Now I guess I should find it and clean it up..that's really cool

Nice finds Tsgman. I pulled out a few of those same small arms bullets the other day here in VA. Awesome Bulls Eye Rosette, it is to bad the lead is missing...That is often the case though. Some pretty dropped lead there too!!

Thanks Steve, it's getting cooler here, today was awesome only around 78 to 80 outside. The ground is easy to dig after all the rain. Lets do some hunting soon. Tim
