90 acres up near horseheads NY

So a buddy of mine lives up in horse heads and scooped up 90 acres and told me if i wanted to come detect up there i am more then welcome to... just curious if anyone knows what the history is like up there .. he is about 10 minutes from Seneca lake as well so not sure how the mineral deposits would be figured I’d ask here
