Got back to the park where I dug the 1882 seated dime on Wednesday morning.

Did not get silver today but did recover one more Indian Head cent close to where I dug the dime; this area is unkind to anything copper and the profile and date are barely visible on this coin. The year is 1888.

Figured I'd drive to another part of the park that also produced Indians. About 900 feet (as the crow flies) away from the 1888 disaster cent I dug a beautiful 1889 IHC.

This patina and condition are typical of Indians dug from this part of the park.

Nice ‘89 penny! Congrats!

Beauty and the Beast! Nice Indian(s), McD, IHP's don't necessarily have to be showroom condition to be enjoyed, it looks much better in your hand than 6 inches deep in the ground! Good getting out, thx for sharing, Ddf.

My favorite coin so far, been trying to expand my collection!

Congrats on your IH's, I love finding them, but it's getting harder and harder to find them in my area... "D"
