Found this metal detecting. it is a bit bigger than a quarter. I done some searching but can not find anything that
matches this. I found some info on page 463 of this document.

Try the name with mining company's looks like script from a company store

My first impression was that it was similar to old ear tags for cattle. Individual numbers could be stamped into the blanks. Reading into the history of Albert Brooks Cole, he did have a dairy farm. (see the 1921-1923 entry California Mayors ) ...maybe?
