A Birthday Outing

My oldest daughter, Josie, turned 15 today! (She's the picture taker) So, we went to the woods for her birthday

---kinda a country girl's birthday. It was absolutely beautiful---the temps were in the 60's with a light wind. Everything is in bloom! The redbud trees are exceptionally gorgeous right now and we even saw some wild strawberry plants blooming. The scissortail flycatchers are back and the frogs are jumping. We even found a puddle with lots of tadpoles. We saw some really old sycamore trees along the creek. The girls threw rocks in the creek and even skipped a few. It was a wonderful day! ! We did have fun.....Both my girls love to go exploring and we try to enjoy the outdoors whenever we can.

Thanks 4-H!! I guess my kids can't help but love the country....we've taken them to the woods ever since they were little. We live in a place where there's plenty of land to explore and lots of pictures just waiting to be taken

Josie said "thanks", naturegirl! Someone saw one of her pictures at my sisters shop in town and asked if those were Harvey's---that was one of the best compliments she got so far! To be compared with him is great!
Nope, Josie hasn't started driving yet, because I've got to order her driver's ed. curriculum(since I home school her, we'll have to do all that). Oh, she drives on the lease roads some and has been riding a 4-wheeler since she was big enough to walk

, but she doesn't drive on the public roadways yet.

Thanks Jim! We gave Josie a camera when she was 12 and she just took off from there. That's her hobby along with hunting and fishing.

Thanks Fossis! Oklahoma is so beautiful right now. I am so glad to see the green popping up everywhere---it almost hurts my eyes its so pretty!

I went to Bartlesville today and saw alot of burning off by farmers and rachers in area saw the sign on where to turn for TG couldn't stop was with some one but it was so pretty an GREEN that way! :icon_sunny:

Someday, I hope you get to come over and see the TGP, Evy! The bison are having their babies right now---there's little red calves running around everywhere! My husband and the other guys that work here have been really busy burning and like you said everything is turning green now. It makes the land look so nice when they burn off in the spring. Everything is fresh and clean!
