possibly a '43 steel wheat? ......... i found a change purse with several silvers and a blob just like yours

Just a thought about the electrolysis. Did the "coin" bubble and all that? If not, there could be something wrong with the set-up:

- the polarity could be reversed (if you use it routinely, that's probably not it)
- the unit could be DOA did you check the voltage?
- Not enough electrolyte in the solution, pump up the lemon juice maybe
- lastly (and most probable) the clip on the coin is not making good electrical contact (maybe the item isn't that conductive to start with.

Just some things to look at.

Hey, I got a blob like that sitting on my desk. It's nickel size but kinda thick like maybe its a button. I'm gonna have to try that electolysis and see if it does anything. I'd listen to BioProf and try again; it certainly can't hurt.

I cant help but try the professers suggestion."Pump up the volume, dance, dance" I dont think you can hurt it at this point.

I'd have to say,it does look like a steel penny.HH
