Street Tear-Out In Town Yields a Few Finds!

This morning I noticed some construction going on in a downtown area and decided to check it out after work with the XP D2. This town was founded in 1813 and was of the largest in my state for a century.

The ground was full of iron bits and nearby utilities created a lot of EMI. Using "Fast" mode I was able to pull out a few gems from under the trash and iron. Find of the day was a flat button, and another round coin like object that may also be a button.

Hopefully they do some more digging tomorrow and I plan to swing by in the evening to hunt it again.

The return trip didn't yield much. No new area was exposed and they started backfilling with gravel. I had fun hunting it though!

I'd love it if they tore out roads here. None of the municipalities really do that though. They mill and overlay, that's about it.
