Whites Silver Eagle, DFX, Shadow X-2
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Returning to a site that we have been hitting just outside of Denver, I managed to dig these items.
Two tokens, one listed from Boulder (Cusack & Miles, 1904 saloon), and the other, a G.L. Hill token, which took
some research. My first Boulder token, so I'm happy.
Luckily, the Denver library has most of their Business Directories viewable online. Took about a hour, but tracked it down to a Glen L. Hill, Saloon owner located at 1020 23rd st. in Denver. Time frame 1907-1911. Part of the fun token hunting is the research.
The Shield Nickel has no date, but with the rays, it has to be 1866-67.
The big question is the ladder-badge-looking item. It has the letters CO. A. on it.
Company A?
Colorado isn't usually shorten with a period ending the abbreviation, so I'm at a loss
Any help would be appreciated.
Carl

Thanks, I didn't even bother to take the detector out of the bag. Talked to a few detectorists who convinced me that the in-the-water detecting was the way to go.
Just did the tour-ron bit, walked along the beach at sunset, tried to get a lot of exercise in, just so I could eat more seafood.
Pretty darn hot down there, humidity was a killer.
Pumped about the Boulder token, they just really didn't have a lot of tokens produced there, saloon-wise anyway
Keep up the great token hunting,
Carl

Colorado used to be Co. untill they figured that between bad writing and postal workers with bad eyes or what ever mixed up Co with Ca. Col and Cal don't seem to be much of an improvement. Co. A is just as good of a suspect as any. Reunion for GAR? I will have to go down and try to find my GAR badges to see if any of the ladder attachments are similar. Nice tokens.

My first thought was GAR as well, didn't find anything online that matched exactly.
Or something 1890-ish.
Feel like I've seen something similar, somewhere.
But then my head starts to hurt.
