The first silver was a 1942 Merc pulled from the local Giant Eagle grocery store. I have found foreign coins before in CoinStars, but this was my first silver.

Then made it out this morning with Louis at the site in the woods with multiple foundations where we pulled a 6 coin silver spill a few weeks ago. We first went back to the site of the spill, I found a token similar to the Independent Brewing Co tokens I’ve found before. But this one is holed and has M&T, not sure. (Pic next to a previous dug beer token, both are blank on back.)

Next find was this St Christopher medal, really big and 2 holes?

Then got a 17 on the Nox. This is sometimes a small horse tack buckle, but more often a deep rusty nail, but it sounded tight and was reading 6-8 deep.

I tried to take a big plug but hit large roots just under the soil layer. Thought this was going to be a lot of work for a rusty nail toward the end of the day, but swung over it to see where in the roots was the target except the target was out of the plug, must have only been a couple inches down. Pinpointed a tiny thin disk, thought it must be some modern piece of a button or battery end, but could see a slight design. Called Louis over and he hit it with some water and when we flipped it we saw the star, no way!!!

It’s not in great shape but my first 3 cent Silver Trime.
Decided to dig around the cellar a bit more and got a great silver dime signal.

I believe this is an Evans Automatic silver lighter. Someone did a crude engraving in the fancy square, my first silver lighter.

Here is the handful.

Great finds ! The trime , and the lighter are uncommon finds to say the least !!

It was super cool to see the Trime, I never seen one in person before. I never knew silver lighters existed. Those woods have treated you very well since we starting hitting it. All I managed was a wheatie and horse tack buckle today. I'm looking forward to hitting that other site next weekend.

I like the trime. I can’t seem to find any but, I like them.

Woah very nice finds! I had to buy my trime! lol. Congrats on the trime! :icon_thumleft: That lighter is really cool. I've never seen a St Chris medal that big!

Amazing job on the trime, it’s a beauty in my book!

Low mintage date. Might be first one posted on this website. Congratulations!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Super Silver Day .

Is the lighters Casing silver & the other parts brass?
If so the lighting mechanism should slide out if you tug on it enough. FWIW
Good Eve.

That definitely was a cool moment this morning when we flipped the Trime. Crazy how this hobby goes, the luck factor chimed in big trime!

It seems like the case is silver and the workings on top are brass and some rotted iron in there as well. Thx

Thx Whyme! The left and right holes on the medal have me head scratching. It is heavy, maybe it wad screwed or nailed onto something vs worn?

Nice work! 🙌 Love them Trimes!

I think those Trimes are a super cool design. I'd pass out to see one flip in a plug. Congrats!
