The first silver was a 1942 Merc pulled from the local Giant Eagle grocery store. I have found foreign coins before in CoinStars, but this was my first silver.

Then made it out this morning with Louis at the site in the woods with multiple foundations where we pulled a 6 coin silver spill a few weeks ago. We first went back to the site of the spill, I found a token similar to the Independent Brewing Co tokens I’ve found before. But this one is holed and has M&T, not sure. (Pic next to a previous dug beer token, both are blank on back.)

Next find was this St Christopher medal, really big and 2 holes?

Then got a 17 on the Nox. This is sometimes a small horse tack buckle, but more often a deep rusty nail, but it sounded tight and was reading 6-8 deep.

I tried to take a big plug but hit large roots just under the soil layer. Thought this was going to be a lot of work for a rusty nail toward the end of the day, but swung over it to see where in the roots was the target except the target was out of the plug, must have only been a couple inches down. Pinpointed a tiny thin disk, thought it must be some modern piece of a button or battery end, but could see a slight design. Called Louis over and he hit it with some water and when we flipped it we saw the star, no way!!!

It’s not in great shape but my first 3 cent Silver Trime.
Decided to dig around the cellar a bit more and got a great silver dime signal.

I believe this is an Evans Automatic silver lighter. Someone did a crude engraving in the fancy square, my first silver lighter.
Here is the handful.

Special thanks out to Louis for the invite to this lost and forgotten section of Pittsburgh, I owe you buddy!!
Good luck out there!
