I got out detecting today with Zoyboy and Blitz to the picnic grove. I had a good day for the 4 hours that we detected. My 1st coin find was a date-less Indian Head (the soil treats these coins badly). This coin was only 2.5" deep. My last coin find of the day was a perfect 50 VDI reading that pinpointed at 2". It turned out to be an 1898 Indian Head (the date is very hard to read, due to the damaging soil). This IH find boosted my total to 32 for the year!

While making my way down a small line of trees, I got a nice 50 VDI reading that pinpointed at 3". I dug it up and was suprised to see an old pendant. After cleaning it at home, I happened to notice some nice details. It says, "Mardi Gras - Mar 1-9 - Mobile, ALA - 1908." And, about 3 inches to the right of this find, I found this "Souvenir" piece. It was probably lost by the same person.

I didn't post a pic of the IHs. They were too badly corroded. HH!

Great finds bud! I would love to be able to find indians that shallow! In crummy Indiana they are about 6" and deeper.

Intresting Relics.

Thanks, dudes, for the replies. I am one step closer to 50 Indian Heads for the year (my goal).

Intresting!!!Be nice to put it under my microscope.
