A Fallen Giant

On one of my latest walks, I came across the largest tree I have ever seen that had been blown over after the ground was saturated with rain, I would have liked to cut out a section & counted the rings.
I also went around an old 'oxbow lake', (where the river had changed course thousands of years ago), I saw beaver dams, beaver hutches, lots of eagles, Canada geese, ducks, & one squirrel that jumped in the creek to get away, (it was quicker) than going across the beaver dam, I miss a lot of wildlife shots, 'they're too quick'. :icon_scratch:

I love the pics...the beavers did a job on that tree.

We have two Canadian geese hanging around here...can't get to the area to get a picture.

Thanks, they sure did, we have the Canada geese on nearly every pond & lake, they stay 'year round'.

Thanks, they had a large lake, but they dammed up a ditch & started a new one closer to the trees. :P

Nice photos Fossis. That place has got to be a real jungle to walk through in the summer time, so many hanging vines. Good ole beavers. I use to trap a 100 a year in Wi.

Thanks Mrs O, I don't know what they bring, that is the biggest lodge I ever saw in this area.
Some guys set it on fire several years ago, but they repaired it, (the beavers). :thumbsup:
