Posting some picts from the last few days of hunting. Two day hunts and one late niter. Beach conditions not optimal as you can see in the photos but little pockets of tgts pop up in one spot or another but I've had to cover some long distances to find them...all worth it of course! Someday soon I'm going to sit down with all of the button's I've found over the last year or so and try aand nail down what each one is. It would be nicer to be able to speak to what each one is when someone asks rather than just say "some old buttons"! I know there are some knowledgeable local guys here that I'll be asking for help as well. I believe most date to between late 1700's to mid 1900's.
Anyone good on buckles/strap keepers? Find some small plain ones from time to time (bathing cap or suspender/garter type ones) from time to time but dug a larger brass one the other day that is a bit more ornate on one side so I'm kinda curious what it might be from.
How about Mandarin Chinese or Japanese? Found a metal plate, both sides marked but no idea what it is.
