A few goodies from yesterday's hunt with Worldtalker

So I didn't find anything too crazy yesterday, but it sure was beautiful out. I decided to take my time and go really slow, and dig all the iffy and faint signals. I didn't cover much ground, but the ground I did cover was full of neat targets masked by aluminum and iron. I managed a small crotal bell at well over a foot deep, a couple clay marbles on the surface, a V-Nickel, 5 chewed up Indians (1 shy of tying my personal best), a Chinese Cash Coin, a giant buckle, and of course, the obligatory musket balls and bale seals. Also scored a broken bit of sterling to keep the silver streak alive. I'm not sure what it is though. No silver coins yesterday, which really surprised me since all the Indians were in a 100ft x 30ft section....
I finally got some decent pics of the William III halfpenny from the other day.
Hopefully today will prove more productive.

Nice finds oxbowbarefoot!

Very nice finds! I just dug my first Chinese cash coin last weekend on Sat and then on Sun I also dug my first William III halfpenny. Digging a pre-Georgian coin in the US was quite a thrill! Congrats on yours too!

I have a questions for you oxbowbarefoot. When you dig these iffy a faint signals do you run your machine in all metal mode with no discriination? Thanks Butcher

Nice variety there:icon_thumright:

hmm..interesting......a few years ago.....I found a Chinese cash coin near the very last barn (past the collapsed quanset hut thing) - I didn't think mine was very old....but who knows.....

That Chinese Cash Coin must mean that you have more luck on the way! :thumbsup:

I'm running in a program called GMPower, I tweak it a little to run it hot. It's not quite all metal, but I hear iron anyway.

Oh ya that`s a good day...and then to hang and hunt with Chris makes it a great day...nice finds guys !

Thanks for the ID. Those dates would be consistent with all the Indian pennies and fair tokens from this small area of the fields I was working.

Wow that buckle is WWF sized,congrats on all your finds.

Someone told me the reason there's so many chinese is because they were popular keepsakes in Victorian era when China trade opened.
We should all get together sometime, your places or mine.
I got a couple really dense iron patches that give up the goods if your patient
got my first libcap half Cent yesterday :hello2: HH to ya! Herbie.;
