Found these date nails from the railroad in a fenceline yesterday, probably Southern Pacific. Two 1957s and a 1952, which is a new one for my collection. Also saw these guys around the house. The centipede was alive this morning but dead by the time I got to see him. Thanks for looking.

Yeah, those are some nasty looking critters for sure. I dont know about the frog though. We have big Colorado river toads around here, so maybe its just a little one.

Yes, they have become a favorite of mine. Ive lived out here a long time but only learned of these nails about a year or so ago, and I always (ALWAYS) wanted to find something cool from one of our old RRs around here, which play such an important role in the development of this region, so its been really enjoyable to hunt these things down. And most of them Ive found within 10 miles of home.
