Hunting some Church grounds where Spanish American camps were known to be, but a few surprises were found. Never found any cw bullets in Huntsville, Alabama but, maybe I should go to the library and read. Will send the brass to what is it forum. Thanks for looking. 20200108_170747.webp20200108_170747.webp

Huntsville Alabama! I havent been up that way in years. Great town and a lot of good people.

Nice finds. Keep looking. You may come upon a camp, crossroads or such. Civil War stuff turns up in the most unexpected places! My St. Timothy Hall buttons were found on a farm not known for anything. Confederate buckle #1 at a friend's cow farm. Confederate buckles #2 and #3 were found at another friend's house, they had just bought the property and I just asked for the halibut to ask to dig there...who would have thought? A colonial town produced some nice eagle I buttons. Another one some eagle I's, another St. Timothy Hall button and some minies. And to top it off, my lawn, near the MD/PA state line and no where near Antietam or Gettysburg produced a round ball, hat #1, Confederate I button and a couple other odd items. I almost fainted when I pulled out the "1" hat letter!

Stuff is where it is. I have found some of the best stuff at old homesteads, a long way from any battlefield. Stuff was brought home as souvenirs.
