The last time I went out detecting I got skunked with the exception of half a dozen ticks...so today I went back to the beach to try my luck. A couple neat little finds including the CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway?) lead seal, old clock key, a piece of brain coral and the super cool Capstan Navy Cut ashtray. I quit smoking close to 12 years ago so it's for display only.

I'm not sure what the round lead piece is in the upper left corner...but it's heavy and gave a real nice tone on the Fisher.

Let me be the first to congratulate you. Sweet finds!! WTG :icon_thumleft:

Very nice finds! In the upclose pictures of the button, is the 200 on the other side? If it is, there's a possibility that it could be some kind of seal, boxcar maybe, for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. Either way, it'a a cool find!

how much for the crystal?

The ashtray was a neat remembrance of my childhood in England, thanks :icon_thumleft:

If my memory serves me right those ash trays were made of solid brass.

All neat find  But I like the ashtray & I still smoke ;D (27yrs now). But what is neat is that I was just looking up ashtrays. As this one is from somethings my granddad had I've been looking through.Seems like I can't find one like it & must be what's called trench art as it looks to be made from a large spent shell. The Bluebird was a sub rescue ship which was one of many ships my grandad was on.
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

Make me an offer! ;D Chandelier crystal...

The piece of lead, brass, bronze? with the "200" stamped on it.......could that be a weight from a balance scale? Just a swag on my part. BTW, what did the Fisher sound like on the crystal!? ;D

love the CPR lead seal...I've got about half dozen ICR seals now but no CPR

It's a lead baggage seal. Crystal was a welcome find but not the type of crystal I was looking for. I've found a couple nice quartz crystal tips on this beach so my eyes were open for those...

Brain Coral :icon_scratch:
I don't think it's native, Ive found large pieces used as ballast...

I was thinking same as SHW, coral must be an unusual find around here.

I'd take any lead seal too. They are rare under my coil.
