I have been detecting this one site for several years, it is just a small home site from the 1840s period. The ground is never plowed or worked, the site never seem to let me down. I have detected this site thinking there was no more to be found. I think the ground changes from freezing every winter, I have found 15 or so old coppers 1812 -1840, many plain buttons. Tonight I decided to go back and try again, the first target was this Colonial gold ring, I think it has the letters IRE inside, I will be taking the ring to see if it can be cleaned, it has been buried for some time, the next is this portion of a rosette I think, the back is lead filled, the coin is a Leelie& sons half penny token from upper Canada, I can't make out the date, the token is either 1824 or 1828. And the other finds are a couple plain buttons and a 50 cal. lead ball. I have not been out much, but this weekend I will heading to a 1806 site. Brian C.
