cool piece, my guess would be broken clovis/ folsom(because of the size)salvaged into a multipurpose knife/ scraper/ spokeshave.
 

i thought salvaged folsom my first thought, but the flute looks more clovis like? also, folsom size, there have been more folsoms than clovis found in the area also

Jk, thank you for the information, i did not know that some impact fractures would produce flute look alikes.
So let me get this straight, you think a Paleo man DID NOT find this Archaic piece and rework it?

Folsom, first flute fail, reworked into a tool. And I am in NM they did like that material to work with here.
