A friend of mine found these in his rental house

Sorry - I should've been clearer: he found them in a jar on the mantel of his rental house. He doesn't know how they got there or who originally found them .

A lot of them are similar, but from closeup you can see that theyre dirty and old. I put a few under the microscope and there's sand embedded. Most of them are broken in some way though, so I think that it was the leftovers from someone's collection.

Looks like a lot of common field grade pieces with a couple or more nice ones in the mix. The kids will be thrilled to take any one of those home with them. Very cool gesture! Can we see a close up of the black Point to right of the word "your" in the 2nd picture and of the one in the bottom middle with the indented base in pic #3? Those look interesting. The black Point appears to have a "flute" or "channel" down the face and may be a reworked Clovis. It may just be the lighting too.

The sun is going down and I have a $20 phone camera, but hopefully some of these pictures turned out. I think that the two you referenced are in there. I forgot to include a size reference, but all of these points in the closeups are pretty standard (less than 2 inches long).

Thanks for the extra pictures. The black Point isn't fluted. It was just the lighting. But the other one I asked about, which is in pic #9 and #10 sure looks to be a Quad and would be Late Paleo/Early Archaic in age. He should probably keep that one.

Thanks! I'll let him know. If there are others he should keep please let me know. Neither of us have any idea how to identify them.

Some nice points in that group thanks for posting like grim said the quad and a few others he may want to hold onto. I think it's great to share with the kids and hopefully keeps the next generation interested in this hobby but a few of them (archaic ) could be 3,500 years old or older it would be ashame if they survived all this time and then the kids discarded them.

Nice little group of Mantle finds! They all look like pretty normal field finds from Tennessee or maybe Central Kentucky based on the materials and types. There are a couple of older points in the mix that The Grim Reaper already pointed out.

This one is a Dalton/Quad, it's probably 10,000 years old. Not worth a ton of money, but it would be a much better than average find for almost anyone on this forum (not a find-of-a-lifetime, but maybe find of the month or year.) There are a couple of other points that are also cool ones (most of the ones you picked out in the last group of pictures.) I'd make sure the kid was interested before I gave him those, the rest of the dinged up and broken ones are cool but are great for kids.

Yes I would keep those nice ones. The kids will enjoy but eventually lose all the broken ones.
