Great find! from your picture, The cartridge is LIVE! Take it to a Gunsmith and have that Cartridge removed by a professional!!!!!!, unless you are one!

Welcom to T-Net ! WTG on that find. :icon_thumleft: It looks like someone got him first, or his rifle jammed; too bad we'll never know the story behind that relic.

You have a very intersting metal detector. How did you make it? Does it detect deep? Either way wow.

About the rifle, did you find any of the other pieces with it? Did it still have the bolt in it when you found it, another words closed on the live cartridge?
