I was given this the other day by my Grandmother while talking about some family history, there is a complete set of these guys coats and cuffs and came from my Great x 4 uncle John J. L. Stevens 8th Va Calvary.
Shes a real beauty!!!

Beautiful Button! Was he an officer? The reason I ask is that's a Virginia Staff! Beautiful and treasured piece of history and who better for your Grandmother to give it to than to someone in the family who will honor and treasure it and hold it up in a place of sanctity; namely you, her Grandson. My Grandmother has done the same thing for me with several family heirlooms. Congratulations there James! :icon_thumleft:

I havent got the info handy Ive just begun to research him I know he enlisted in the 8th Va calvary....
