Floods aren’t all bad, brought some new artifacts in, very nice thin blade, out of a strange material, almost has a metallic ring, and a mostly there more common point.

The big blade is a second one I’ve found in the same spot, haven’t been able to Id it but it looks like it’s an intentional type

Nice stuff...! :icon_thumright:

Very cool points! Thanks for sharing with us. Congratulations!

Those in the last pic are not only intentional, they're the same type IMO.

Nice finds, older. I agree the floods aren't all bad. I was lucky the other day myself.

Had a guy suggest a Scottsbluff... I could see it, maybe even believe it if it weren’t for the fact I’ve go 5 woodland dart points found in the same 15’ area... but it is a river maybe it’s not so much a single site eroding upstream but just a good spot for points to drop out

My Gosh! Hopefully your well won't run dry there. Nice!

I was trying to guess a best id on the smaller point, maybe loftin, seems like the same maker of the other 4 and most similar to the loftin next to it.

I was reading overstreets description of waubesa points, it made me wonder if that’s what the larger ones were. Thin and well flaked fits them and with the broken bases the shape works... as well as a same general time frame as the others.

my biggest hesitation is they aren’t heat treated, which I understand is rare for material the large white one is made of... a guy wanted to take a pic to send his archy buddy because he’d never seen it finished in raw stone, that and the quality of the flaking seems to suggest they are older.

Anybody know anything about waubesa or if the hopewell were known to use raw stone vs heat treat?
