A little gold and silver, & arrowhead
Hello to you all!!
Another perfect Michigan day out there, just in time for the weekend, so of course, I got out and got my fix for this addiction we have
.
This week, I discovered a fairly small school district on the richer side of town and I have never hunted there before. There were 3 elementary schools and I hit them all and covered the woodchip play areas completely at all of them.
Started out at the first school with a couple nice sterling silver keepers. First was a sweet little 925 ring with a red stone, garnet I guess. Found this in the open area between a play structure and the swings. I also got a nice 925 earring with turquoise inlay under one of the play structures. There were quite a few coins, so it was interesting.
The second school had only one small area of woodchips but I got my gold today here. I pretty little pendant that says "Special Sister", hallmarked 14k. Woowhoo! Also at this school, I got a very rare find. A first for me. I actually found an stone arrowhead with my detector. This is because someone super glued a piece of metal to it to make it a pendant to hang on a chain. Pretty cool huh! It's not an authentic arrowhead I guess, but still a really cool MD'ing find. I also got a really pretty gold tone chain fob thingie broken, in pieces. I thought it was real when I found it, but there is no hallmark on it. There weren't too many coins here so I moved on pretty quickly.
Finally, the third school had two nice play areas and they were loaded with targets, lot of coins. No keepers here though. But I did get two foriegn coins, a 20 peso Columbian coin and a huge Swiss 5 franc coin. There were a lot of trinket jewelry items here. I was very busy digging.
All 3 of these schools didn't have much trash which was a welcome change from the normal. All in all, it was such a great day, just to be out there, I feel blessed and all the cool finds are just a bonus.
I got 4- 1/2 hours hunt time today all together. All the coins added up to $14.06 with 218 coins total today, one of my highest totals ever. I'll take it.
Thanks for reading and I hope you all get out and enjoy a little swinging this weekend too. Here are a few photos of today pile of finds and the keeper finds. HH!!
