hummm... florida I think fits the bill --april normally warm nuff for swimming (or if you think its too cold --cold snaps can happen - use the pools at hotel) check---most everywhere in the USA has good food at some local spots (just ask the locals where they eat) check fun for the kids ---disney and other such theme parks in area so check there---also great beaches to detect (wassabo area) big check there** ps get book wassabo beach wrecksite book ahead of time ---plan ahead for best prices---vero disney hotel ---plot and plan ahead to save da green --ps it ain't cheap even with planning. but do enjoy.

I vote for South Padre Island, TX this is at the very South East tip of Texas and is a very nice resort area. It is also a big area for Spring Breaks in March so if you are there in April you will be in time to clean the beach for them.

Florida's best kept secret: http://www.hlbeachresort.com/. Rates are reasonable, you can walk to Nokomis beach and hunt the water without being beat to death by the big waves found on the Atlantic. This resort is on the Gulf of Mexico south of Sarasota and still within driving distance of Walt Disney World. There are several other beaches within 45 minute drive like Englewood, Manasota, Siesta Key and Lido Key. Water is usually very clear and warm at that time of year. Good luck and enjoy.
