We went to Florida to visit relatives and friends. My brother in law and his wife no longer live in a beach condo so it was a half hour drive to the beach each morning. I managed to get in 13 hours of swingin with the CZ21. I visited 3 different beach parks and all of them were very very quiet on the beach. There were people on the beach and evidence that lots of people had been there, but they didn’t leave much behind. After spending time finding very little on the beach (wet and dry sand) I checked around the walkways, crossovers and parking lots and found most of my coins and some bling there.
Altogether I found 228 coins with a face value of $14.13 (143 pennies), a stainless knife and fork, a foreign coin, some jewelry, a sinker, a stainless piece with a threaded hole, 3 keys, a toy car, the usual beach junk (foil, aluminum bottle caps, some tent pegs) and 47 tabs.
The foreign coin is a Mexican 1 peso (worth a few cents). The ring and the earring were found on the beach. The ring sounded good and looked good in the dark before the sun came up, but it is very shiny, the wrong color and not marked so a disappointment. The Minnie Mouse earring was my only find in the wet sand (no junk either). Again it looked promising, but unmarked and definitely not gold or plated silver.
NON DETECTOR FINDS
I did spot a flock of turkeys crossing the road in front of me while I was on my morning walk the day we left for Florida.
I did find some coins on morning walks around parking lots on our way to Florida. Along with a dragonfly resting on the pavement .
While I was detecting the wet sand I did find this cool 9 armed starfish. I read they were finding a lot of them in that area. This poor guy had been there a long time and was dead. If he had been alive I would have returned him to the ocean.
Not a great week, but I did get some time out there swingin (not as much I would have liked), I did not get skunked and I did find some interesting things so still a good week. The weather at home is decent so I will be able to get out and do more detecting to finish out my year (ends April 30).
