Yo, dudes, I got out with PACO yesterday to a small research site in Northumberland County. KirkPA had to go to a family dinna (dinner) with his girlfriend, and vpone had other family duties. So, since we were both free to do whatever, we decided to do a little bit of relic hunting...Bone Dry Detecting style.

Well, to make a somewhat long metal detecting story short, we hit a site that supposedly held a tavern during the 1700s. From my research on Thursday, this tavern sat on public property in the middle of the city, with tons and tons of concrete surrounding it. Since it was only big enough for about two detectorists, PACO and I decided to give it a try.

Within the first minute, literally, the zoyster's analog meter pointed to the "P" on "Penny." I smiled, pinpointed, dug some doyt (dirt) out, obtained pinpoynta (pinpointer) from small pouch, stuck poynta into the doyt, picked up small coin, saw date of 1889, read the "One Cent" on the back, yelled to PAC, got up, kicked dug out doyt back into hole, and proceeded on. :D Well, to make another long metal datectin' story short, I later found a 1900 Injun, two Wheats, and a 1952 wilver dime.

PACO only found two Wheats, and some clad that was thrown into the nearby bushes.

Well, folks, the PACSTER and I later agreed that it was nice to dig a little bit of "younger" American coins for an occasion. This year, we have only been finding early-American coins and Colonials, so these coins kind of broke the metal detecting wagon.

Kyle,
Nice job on the IH's Dude. Anytime you can score coins 100 years old, I'd call it a good day. Congrats.
-MM-
P.S. Did Kirk go to dinner in drag? ;)

Zoy,

When you told me what you had found, I laughed my metal detecting butt off. Stacia asked me, "Why are you laughing?" I responded, "It's a metal detecting issue." :D They were the 1st Injuns recovered by BDD in about 6 months, so I guess they are welcomed. :-*

That clad could have bought you some peanut butter cups at the local uni-mart. Dang you, zoyboy! :D

LMFAO! Actually, I was dressed up in some nice clothes (tie, pants, etc. :D). At times, I do act proper. :D

BDD...Kirk

P.S. Instead of eating like a pig and shoveling in the food, I had to eat like a kind gentleman. If you can picture KirkPA trying to do this, it is quite hilarious.

I'm proug of you Kirk. A dressed up Kirk acting like a gentleman? I'd love to see that. ;D
Did you help with the dishes?

I asked, "Pardon, would you mind if I cleanse those dir-tee wilver forks? I mean silver." LMFAO I was a very proper Englishman-like dinner guest. :D ;D

Nice finds, I thought you throw the wheaties away? Hardly worth keeping for a detectorist of your caliber I would tend to think. :) Bone Dry Detecting? You'd better get that site fixed.http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=bonedrydetecting.com

Yeah, buddy, the old KylePA might have done that, but not the new KylePA. :D Yupper, our site is coming soon, folks!

Glad to hear it! Just messing with you anyway. :)

Nice finds! Coingratulations. I have only been at detecting for a short time although I have collected coins for a great while. Still wishing, hunting and hoping for a wheat! Shane

You are right, my man! "Wilver is wilver is wilver is wilver," as stated by KirkPA after hearing about the wilver. :D

Hey, Kyle, congrats on your IH's and Rosie. Those look like my finds from some of my older parks. Okay, maybe add in about 5 more wilvers and 30 more wheaties.... ;D ;D

There's a lot of md'ers on Tnet who hope to find coins like yours someday. You make it look easy. Man, what are the temps there? You guys are hardcore, bone-dry, da'tectorists.

Good hunting, bud!

Yo, Dan, I could never compete at your level, but I can try. Now, bud, go get 700 wilvers for the year.

The temperature was 36 F yesterday, but to me it felt like 90 F. :D

Nice finds guys. The "brothers bone dry" strike again. You guys are hardcore. I was feeling pretty hardcore myself Thanksgiving night in the snow and 26 degrees. That hardcore feeling lasted not so long as I came home with frozen fingers and drool frozen to my face. I felt pretty cool for a while though ::)

not too sure what you said.. but tossing money away is great !!!!!
nice indians...

Only clad, bud, only clad. :D

Glad to see you were able to get out for a while. I remember Kirk saying he tossed the clad to leave something for the future treasure hunters to find 200 years from now. Very nice gesture on Paco's part.

I know you dont clean the large coppas but those IH's look like they would benefit from a quick peroxide bath. Give it a try......everyone's doing it (peer pressure) ;D

One more thing.....Did you leave that site BONE DRY?
